What’s New in Microsoft Teams: Queue-Tips

There are a handful of exciting additions to the features and capabilities of Microsoft Teams this April. Let’s go through a couple of them and see how they can help better your remote/hybrid working experience.
Join meetings anonymously across clouds
Now we all know joining a meeting hosted in a cloud that is different from yours is unnecessarily complicated. The days of struggling to join through Teams web are now over. Commercial users can now join meetings in other clouds from the comfort of their Teams desktop app. This results in a much better meeting experience.
Notifications in meetings for iOS
All the iOS users will now get an in-meeting notification drawer according to us is a major usability improvement. With just one tap, users can now preview, collapse, and clear all the notifications that appear on top of their screens whilst in meetings. This improvement will help minimize distractions when in meetings.
System audio can now be shared from meetings on web
Now if you join meetings through web apps this is for you. While sharing your desktop or window during meetings, you can now choose to include the audio. This feature can come in handy while sharing content that has voiceover or background music like a video. No more echoes or sync noises. Everyone can now watch in sync. This setting can be found in the “Share Content” settings.
Presenter mode
Presenter mode is one other feature that has gone through major enhancements. The presenter will now be able to choose if they would like to appear on the left corner or right corner of the screen. There’s more. They will also be able to resize their video and the content size will automatically adjust accordingly. This will be applicable to all modes of sharing (desktop/window).
Detecting music automatically
Now that the ML-based noise suppression is applied by default to all the users, and it is known to consider anything other than speech as noise that needs to be suppressed, the new ML-based music detector is a cool new addition. This helps avoid suppressing music and will allow the users to enable a high-fidelity music mode. The end-user will now be able to differentiate between unwanted background noise and the desired signal (music). While this is only available for EDU customers, for now, it is something to look forward to.
