What’s New in Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Ignite 2022: Queue-Tips

Last month, at Ignite 2022, Microsoft unveiled the latest innovations coming to Microsoft Teams, making hybrid work more flexible, easier, and inclusive. Listed below are a few of the Teams features and solutions that were announced.
Mesh avatars for Microsoft Teams
Avatars made their way into Teams. Microsoft made hundreds of options—from physical attributes to accessories available for users to design up to three unique avatars and show up in Teams meetings as customized, animated versions of themselves. Mesh avatars allow users to express themselves without having to turn cameras on. They are now available in the standard Teams meeting experience for private preview customers.
Excel Live
This powerful new feature lets the attendees interact and edit an Excel file right from the meeting without even having to run excel on their devices. None of the attendees has to leave the meeting or open the file separately as the shared meeting space becomes an interactive canvas for them to work on. Excel Live is expected to roll out this month.
Cameo in PPT Live

Integrating Teams camera feed into a presentation is now possible with Cameo’s newest PowerPoint experience. It lets the speaker customize how and where the slides should appear while offering design recommendations for optimal viewing. It is now generally available in Microsoft Teams.
Together mode innovations
With the latest innovation in together mode, organizers and presenters can assign seats and meet attendees in the Together mode view to make them feel more like they are in the same room during virtual meetings. This update is now generally available in Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams Premium
Built on Microsoft Teams’ familiar all-in-one collaboration experience, Teams Premium is a new, add-on SKU that provides a better way to meet. Premium makes every meeting—from 1:1s to virtual appointments to webinars—more tailored, intelligent, and protected. Teams’ Premium features are expected to roll out in December as part of a public preview and will generally be made available in the first half of 2023.
It has features like meeting guides to help organizers set up the right meeting based on the discussion topics and audience, custom meeting branding to infuse company branding into online meetings, and advanced meeting protection with sensitivity labels.
