How to Enable Warehouse Management Processes for Warehouses in Dynamics 365 Supply Chain: Queue-Tips

A warehouse management system (WMS) is a fundamental part of every supply chain system. It can help a business improve its operations and save overall costs. The Dynamics 365 warehouse management module is an excellent way to automate operations and logistics processes. It allows end-users to work with processes like receiving, production, and sales picking by using scan guns in the warehouse.
To use this process, you need an existing warehouse in the Dynamics 365 system and be enabled for the warehouse management process. Previously, there was no option to convert warehouses from a basic warehouse to an Advanced WMS-enabled warehouse. Companies would need to create a new warehouse. But now, Microsoft has added in the ability to convert an existing basic warehouse to an Advanced warehouse.
Follow below five simple steps:
- Under the warehouse management module, go to setup and find the Enable warehouse management process menu, and select enable warehouse setup.
- On the form, you need to select the warehouse that you want to convert, and specify the location profile you want to default for existing inventory locations.

- Select Validate changes in the Action pane on the top of the screen. You will get a message that states if the validation passed or failed. If passed, it will state warehouse is ready to be enabled.
- Select the process Changes button on the enable warehouse setup form to convert the existing warehouse.

- The results you will see is that “Use warehouse management process” toggle will be enabled.
