Cybersecurity Tech Accord and VFI Report International Cybersecurity Thermometer Ticks One Degree Higher in 2024

In 2024, the ‘State of International Cybersecurity Thermometer’ reached a critical point, hitting 101 degrees. This alarming temperature signifies a deteriorating cyber landscape, primarily attributed to escalating geopolitical tensions and the rise of advanced nation-state cyberattacks. However, amidst these challenges, a blog from the Cybersecurity Tech Accord highlights the positive impact of AI advancements and global collaboration in bolstering cyber deterrence and fostering responsible online conduct.
The Thermometer rates cybersecurity as warfare (100°+), conflict (0°-99°), or stability (below 0°). This year, diplomatic and tech developments impact the landscape. Despite promising global sanctions and cybercrime initiatives, ongoing threats and strategic actions underline the need for persistent digital security improvements.
Queue Associates’ Managing Director, Jeffrey Goldstein, received updates about the Cybersecurity Thermometer from Voices for Innovation (VFI) as an Emeritus member of its Advisory Task Force and participant in the Tech Accord. He ensures Queue implements core best practices based on these findings for clients globally, with Microsoft Security and ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials certified professionals on Queue’s team.
